DeepSeek broadening scope with online services
China’s artificial intelligence star DeepSeek has added internet information services to its licensed business activities, according to mainland media Cailian Press, citing information seen on commercial query platform Tianyancha.
In China, internet information services refer to those that offer users a platform for online information sharing and applications.
Activities that such platform services provide include online news, information portals, search engines, instant messaging, webcasting, digital payments, advertising and promotion, online shopping, network reservation, and application software downloads among other internet-related services.
The mainland authorities’ usage of artificial intelligence DeepSeek can lower the threshold for small enterprises to utilize AI, Greater Bay Area International Information Technology Industry Association Vice President Herbert Chia Pun-Kok said.
